Feng Shui Your Website
Article by Ascis Pecunia
Cyberspace today mimic the real world so accurately that it is not surprising that many are resorting to feng shui to create a great website. The general principles of feng shui advocate the harmonious flow of energy of Chi with your surroundings. In real life, premises with good feng shui co-exist with its surroundings, harnessing good chi that in turn bring good luck and good fortune.
The same feng shui principles can also be applied to websites. Websites, as we all know, are virtual real estates. If you own a good website with established contents and traffic flow, or if you happen to own a popular domain name, the value of the websites can go up to millions of dollars.
The first feng shui tip can be use in choosing the name of your domain. You must never have a domain name that has a hyphen in it (e.g. feng-shui-tips-today.com). Besides the obvious fact that hyphens takes a little more effort to type on the keyboard, the hyphens represent mini poison arrows slicing through your website name. This is very inauspicious and extremely bad feng shui. Instead, opt for a simple website name without hyphens (e.g. fengshuitipstoday.com). This practice can be observed from the websites in the Alexa rankings (it’s a ranking of websites based on traffic). Not one of the top 100 sites in the world has a hyphen in their domain name.
