Feng Shui decorating is now the current approach in interior design. This decorating style involves positioning every element of your living space to create a positive energy. It may sound overwhelming but it is actually easy. The following guidelines in Feng Shui decorating will give you a clear view of this concept and how it can help you.

Designing with these principles in mind is intended to utilize the energy in and around your home in a positive way that creates a balance of joy and harmony. While its applications in interior decorating are recent here, its first recorded application was around 4000 BC in China. Although it may sound old-fashioned, its uses are still very applicable today especially when used accordingly.

The chief point in arranging your home furnishings to achieve optimum benefits from Feng Shui is to place them in areas without blocking the flow of Positive energy or Chi.

The bets option is to ensure that home furnishings are not crowded in one place to allow a breathing space inside the room. It involves all the sides of your home furnishings, it’s the reason why all furnishings must have spaces between each other allowing proper air flow. You must put all your furniture pieces so every piece is seen from the entrance, and in case there is no view of the entry, you can put a mirror to redirect the ray of sunlight.

Garden Landscaping

Gardening advice is abundant. You can find it in your neighbor’s yard, in a book or on the internet. These are all wells of information. There are some things you may want to consider before carving the information you receive into stone or sticking your garden spade into the ground. What works for one may not work for you. Calgary Gardening -Turn Your Calgary Vegetable Garden Into a Lovely Pottage Garden!

Article by Paul Gettis

So the old story goes that vegetable gardens are only for the production of food. In Calgary, home are being built closer and closer together, so space for a Calgary garden can be an issue as well. Combine these two factors and many Calgary Gardeners opt out of the pottage garden all together.

The pottage garden, or else know as the composite garden, combines annuals, perennials and herbs and vegetables into one. These gardens have been popular in France for many centuries. Things like parsley have always been popular for borders and thin paths laid with rustic herringbone pattern bricks pave the way for paths, allowing access to the interior of the garden.

As a Calgary gardener, I would love to see some of the concepts come to Calgary. The pottage garden is in many cases as true work of art as perennials and annuals are skillfully laid with though being put into the styles and texture of herbs and vegetables being planted within.

One good technique is to plant peas, runner beans and other climbers on an attractive trellis that you have installed in your Calgary Garden. Runner beans are attractive climbers and after blooms, tasty beans can be harvested from them. Cucumber and tall cherry can look good grown this way as well.

Ground covers can be used by white or pink flowering strawberry plants. Nothing beats the taste of a home grown strawberry! Also, for that odd corner a zucchini plant can be used as an accent to help out with your planting artistry.
